Emirates Glass hopes for a bigger role in Iraq reconstruction

Emirates Glass, a Dubai Investment Group subsidiary and regional leaders in supplying high quality glass products with its premium brands, is participating in the Rebuild Iraq Exhibition in Amman, Jordan, from April 4 - 7, 2005 in order to play a bigger role in that country's reconstruction efforts.
Emirates Glass will be participating in the four-day exhibition under the umbrella of Dubai Investment Group, the parent company.
'The Iraq reconstruction efforts are expected to get a major boost in the following months and Emirates Glass is already poised to play a major role offering its premium glass products. The company's products already enjoy regional and international reputation for their world class quality and latest technology. We hope our participation at the exhibition in Amman will provide us with the necessary wherewithal to offer our products to the Iraqi market,' said Mr. Ziad Yazbeck, Sales and Marketing Director, Emirates Glass.
'Iraq will need an estimated 2-3 million new residential units throughout the country at a cost of $150 billion as per the World Bank report. Along with this is the need for construction of commercial and government buildings and these projects are expected to be taken up in the near future. Thus the Iraq market offers great potential for companies with specialized products and specific expertise related to construction and real estate and this is where Emirates Glass can play its role,' said Mr Ziad Yazbeck.
'This is why Emirates Glass' products are accepted extensively in global markets and we are sure trade visitors along with major government and non-government bodies will be looking at us favourably once again at the Rebuild Iraq expo,' said Mr Ziad Yazbeck.
Emirates Glass' well-known products including EmiCool Classic, EmiCool Plus, EmiCool Super E2 and EmiCool Sun are high performance coated glass that are used widely throughout the region and beyond. The EmiCool Comfort System is a large range of custom-designed solar and thermal control glass providing generous levels of daylight while giving superior control of heat gain or heat loss according to climate at the same time.
'The company recently won major contracts in Dubai to supply its premium EmiCool Sun NN Green, EmiCool Sun NN Blue Green and the resilient CR 14 Blue products to three prestigious construction projects. These deals further testify our products' appeal and acceptance in the UAE and major regional markets,' said Mr Ziad Yazbeck.
During the November 2004 Big 5 exhibition in Dubai, the region's premier construction and contracting show, Emirates Glass announced the largest single glass supply deal ever, according to which it will supply over 100,000 square meters of its revolutionary EmiCool products to the massive construction of 40 towers at the celebrated Jumeirah Beach Residence development in Dubai.
Emirates Glass invested over AED16 million in October last year in a state-of-the-art equipment, which is recognized as the largest tempering furnace in the world. This has already tripled production capacity at the company's glass manufacturing plant in Dubai.
