Brazilian Glass Manufacturer Implements EdgeCAM
|
The largest manufacturer of pressed glass in Brazil, Nadir Figueiredo Ind., S/A, recently installed EdgeCAM in its mold making facility in Sao Paulo.
Nadir Figueirdo manufactures a range of products including drinking glasses, cups and bowls, and its often said that every household in Brazil uses one of their products daily. In addition, their products are exported worldwide to more than 70 countries.
EdgeCAM is being used in the manufacture of molds for a new range of products, and was chosen after extensive evaluation of competitive CAM products.
According to Ademar Tonin, the manager of Nadir Figueirdos mold making department, "The immediate benefits provided by EdgeCAM were improved programming speed and surface finish of the molds." Mr. Tonin added, EdgeCAM has all the machining strategies we require in the manufacturer of our molds. It has exceeded our expectations; optimizing the generation of cnc programs.
