Fenzi - An international leader in specialist chemical products for the second processing of flat glass

HAll 16 / Stand F40

The Fenzi Group name is synonymous of an international leader in specialist chemical products for the second processing of flat glass. During its 60 years in business this group has grown steadily and its production range nowadays comprises corrosion-preventing paints for protecting mirrors, ceramic paints for toughened glass, polysulphide, butyl and polyurethane sealants for the production of insulating glass, spacers in aluminium, steel and stainless steel for insulating glass and metal profiles for stained glass. It also sells almost all the technical products, tools and small machinery for the second processing of flat glass.

One of the key players in its industry worldwide, the Fenzi Group is headquartered at Tribiano, just outside Milan, while production is integrated via a number of plants, with direct or indirect control, throughout Europe and North America. Two of these production plants entered the Fenzi Group’s orbit only in recent months, as an endorsement of its mission to gain a presence in all strategic positions in order to expand its business.

The Vilvoorde plant in Belgium, dedicated to backing paints for mirrors, was taken over as a business unit from Akzo Nobel. It covers an area of approximately 40,000 square metres and is equipped with highly automated systems that ensure production levels at top quality standards. Its central location makes it a strategic centre for distribution in Europe of all Fenzi Group products.

The new plant in Toronto, Canada, developed to produce Thiover polysulphide sealant for insulating glass, will allow the Group to assist its North America customers even better and to strengthen further its position on a market of prime importance, one where it has been present for more than 30 years.

Fenzi products are now available in over seventy countries via subsidiaries, joint ventures and distributors which ensure deliveries with the best systems and lead times to all main producers in the industry. The Group’s efforts have been rewarded with steadily improving financial results: in 2003 its turnover was over 120 million euros and the forecast for 2004 is a further increase of over 10%.

Glasstec 2004 in Düsseldorf is the ideal opportunity for the Fenzi Group to present to all trade fair visitors its new operations structure, one which is increasingly strong and also increasingly close to its customers.
