The Winlet 350 TH telehandler attachment – the glazing robot that leaves the competition far behind on the ground – has wowed visitors to the Executive Hire Show.

Hire companies and plant manufacturers have spent the first day of the show at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry praising the new kit, and wanting to know how they might get their hands on it.Hird Sales and Aftersales Manager Carl Cooper said: “The response has been phenomenal.Visitors to the Hird stand have seen what a capable machine it is.The Winlet 350 TH can do things no other glazing robot can do.

“It extends the capability of telehandlers and forklift trucks, giving both manufacturers and hire companies a whole new area of performance to talk to customers about. I think they were genuinely excited by the potential.”

Hird is the UK and Ireland authorised distributor for Winlet glazing robots, which are manufactured in Denmark.

The machines are rapidly transforming opinion of what is possible in the glass installation industry, with their lightweight design, innovative safety features, and large lifting capacity.

The Winlet 350 TH is specifically designed to be attached to a telehandler or forklift truck. In this way, glass or other non-porous material can be installed at a greater height, and in hard-to-reach places.

Telehandlers are commonly used on construction sites, so the Winlet 350 TH can quickly be put to work, enhancing productivity and reducing costs to a minimum.

Glass panels can then be placed, even overhead, with absolutely precision and safety, making glass installation faster and more productive.

The Winlet glazing robot operator uses a hand-held wireless controller to manipulate the vacuum lifter arm in the usual way, from any position that gives them the best unobstructed view, and allows the task to be completed safely.

Carl Cooper said: “We have received expressions of interest from more than a dozen equipment manufacturers and hire companies. They can see the combination of a Winlet glazing robot and a standard telehandler is a real winner.”

Other equipment Hird has on display at the Executive Hire Show, which runs until tomorrow (Thursday 11 February), includes a Valla 25 EL pick and carry mini crane, fitted with an MRT4 vacuum lifter.

Hird is also showcasing its Hird Lifting service – supplying equipment for hire and for sale to complete all lifting requirements safely and effectively.
