XSClimber – the safest hoist for self-hoisting gondolas

Date: 10 February 2016

In a Facade XS solution, self-hoisting gondolas use the XSClimber – an electrical self-reeving traction hoist, designed and manufactured by XSPlatforms to take any gondola to the desired height safely and without any noise.

For a high-rise residential tower in the Netherlands, a monorail solution equipped with a self-hoisting gondola now offers access to the hard-to-reach windows above a body of water. The gondola is hoisted by two XSClimbers, each with a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 500 kg (1100 lbs).

The previous solution was outdated and in need of replacement. With a Facade XS solution that includes two very reliable XSClimbers, building owners can rest assured knowing that maintenance work on the outside of the facade can take place safely and without unnecessary delays.

XSClimber’s benefits

The XSClimber includes a mechanism that blocks the hoist when the system is overloaded. Designed and tested to comply with EN1808:2015, the XSClimber is made of high-grade and durable materials. It comes with dust- and waterproof housing and ventilation slots, for a maximum lifespan.

Also, the XSClimber has been engineered to ensure minimum downtime: its internal mechanisms can be accessed by simply removing 4 bolts. A single, easy-to-replace Printed Circuit Board (PCB) contains all the electronic components. This makes the inspection of the hoist a lot quicker.
