A great day raising funds for a local charity was a huge success for the frameXpress team as a whole, with it being close to their hearts and which does an incredible job for the local community.

Severn Hospice in Telford, aims to provide the best care possible and a better life for people living with incurable illnesses, as well as those who are important to patients and close to them. 165 nurses work there to provide care for patients, who on average, stay at the Hospice for just 12 days. To run Severn Hospice last year cost £9.6m which works out at around £26,375 per day and a whopping £6.99m of that was raised from fundraising campaigns last year. Originally opened in 1989, the Hospice has cared for over 25,000 people since then providing in-patient and home care services.

It costs £564 to provide in-patient care on one of the 8 wards – from every £1 donated, 89p is donated to funding services with the other 11p used to raise funds towards another £1. Later this year the Severn Hospice will be holding a Shropshire Colour Run where runners are invited to join in the fun and be the most colourful they can be at a vibrant 5km event inTelford Town Park.

To be held on 12th June 2016, the fun starts for entrants at 10.30am with white t-shirts being covered in all colours of the rainbow both during and after the event. This week, Mark Westbrook, Managing Director at frameXpress visited Severn Hospice to present the fruits of the company’s labours from the Christmas Charity Day. He was thrilled to be able to present a cheque for £425.88 to Becky Richardson – Matron Community Services, on behalf of the whole frameXpress team.

Daniel Smith, Fundraising Officer for Severn Hospice commented, “We are very grateful to Mark for visiting us and presenting us with the donation from the entire team. It is a very kind and we are extremely grateful for all the effort involved.” Mark said, “It can be so easy to forget about the support we all need when incurable diseases affect our families. It was a great day for everyone, knowing we were helping such a worthwhile cause.”
