Tamglass: Over 9 million euros orders

Tamglass Group has agreed new automotive glass machinery orders for over 9 million euros. The agreements have been signed during October and November. Deliveries of these orders will take place in the beginning of 2002 and they go to U.S., Europe, Far East and Middle East.
New orders comprise mainly bending as well as bending and tempering furnaces for both OE and ARG production of automotive glass. These orders are a sign of the manufacturers need to update production technology and increase capacity in the present market situation.
The uncertainty in the world economy has affected this year mainly in the softening of the demand for safety glass machines. The received orders indicate that modern technology is needed in the automotive glass manufacturing in order to be more efficient in the future.
The competitive advantages of the automotive glass manufacturers have come under pressure, requiring new ways to profile the production capability to ensure margins. In this market situation the production logistics and the efficiency of the production lines become increasingly important.
Tamglass, which is part of the Kyro Group a listed company on the Helsinki Exchanges, designs and manufactures safety glass lines and machines for the architectural, automotive, furniture and domestic appliance glass industries. Safety glass is tempered or laminated glass. Tamglass has a total of 16 operating units in a number of European and Asia countries and in the Americas. The company has delivered close 1,400 production lines to over 70 countries.
