A man was killed after being crushed by glass sheets while his co-worker was hurt by glass shards while they were unloading the sheets from a 20-footer container van in barangay North Poblacion, Naga town, last Monday afternoon.
Angelito Guangco, a resident of Velpal Village, Minglanilla town, was killed on the spot after getting pinned under huge sheets of glass while Larry Barcona, 28, was hurt by glass shards from broken sheets.
Police said the two were unloading the sheets from the container van at the GCB Glass owned by Cesar Mangula of North Poblacion.
But as they were at work, their fellow workers said a Ceres bus passed by, the vibrations on the ground shook the sheets off the shelves in the van, collapsing on Guangco and hurting Barcona.
Naga police chief C/Insp. Renato Malazarte said he has assigned his men to track down the bus deemed responsible for the incident.
