Reducing Energy Consumption to Improve the Quality of Life

Date: 28 August 2015

“The Limitations on Unit Energy Consumption of Tempered Glass for Architecture (Local standards in Shanghai)” went effect in 2012.

As one of the key participants drafting the standards, LandGlass is committed to the conservation of environment and considers the reduction of energy consumption as the major goal in designing and manufacturing the tempering equipment. In May of 2015, LandGlass launched the result of ten years of R&D efforts – Cyclone series glass tempering furnace, a new generation jet convection tempering equipment with significant improvement in five main functionality areas: product quality, productivity, energy saving, intelligent operation, and remote control.Among others, LandGlass is leading the business in terms of energy reduction: the all new oval shaped Cyclone series tempering furnace offers not only the advantage of a smaller surface with less heat loss, it employs also exclusive multi-section insulation technology with advanced composite thermal materials, effectively blocking the conductive heat transfer through furnace wall. In addition, the Cyclone series tempering furnace automatically monitors each stage of the tempering process, achieving best cooling contour control by smart allocation of time between high-pressure and low-pressure air blow and adjusting the power of the air blower accordingly. Through these measures, LandGlass’ Cyclone series has effectively reduced the energy use of the blower in comparison with traditional convection tempering furnace, while ensuring the glass to be fully tempered and cooled.

Available data shows that China’s GDP per unit of energy use is twice the world average. As glass manufacturing is especially an energy-intensive industry, the enterprises and customers in this business shall all pay close attention to energy savings in production. Only then can we achieve the high quality GDP and conserve a sustainable environment.
