New Rome church uses Pilkington glass

Pilkington has donated 6,000 m2 of high-performance products for a new church in Rome.

Designed by American architect Richard Meier, the Dives in Misericordia started building in 1998 and was inaugurated at the end of last year to mark Pope John Paul II's 25th year in office.

Pilkington has supplied glass for both the skylights and the walls. Units made from toughened Pilkington Optiwhite™ and laminated Pilkington Optilam Therm™ combine the best possible thermal performance together with high light transmission. The units admit a clear, white light throughout the building to complement other aspects of the design.
