Fuyao Reveals First Item Produced At New Plant

Date: 28 July 2015

Fuyao revealed its first item produced at the former GM plant. A windshield, that will be displayed at Dayton's History at Carillon Historical Park.

Getting the Chinese company to invest in Ohio was an effort by Governor John Kasich, the Dayton Development Coalition and Jobs Ohio.Fuyao's chairman says the plant will become the largest stand alone automotive manufacturer in the world.

"From the very beginning a very good relationship of making sure we understood his needs and his vision for this facility and what he wanted to do in terms of achieving success in the United States," Kristi Tanner with Jobs Ohio said.

A $360 million dollar investment, expected to bring in around 1,500 jobs to the city. A boost to the local economy and state, Tanner says, sparking interest from other companies to come to Ohio.
