Visteon's Halla Climate Control Named One of 'The 30 Most Respected Companies in Korea'

Visteon Corporation's Halla Climate Control has been named one of "The 30 Most Respected Companies in Korea" in a research study conducted by IBM Korea Business Consulting Services and Donga Ilbo, a leading Korean newspaper.

The study evaluated Korean companies based on a number of corporate standards including customer, shareholder and employee satisfaction, environmental leadership, and 52 core performance indexes. The survey is the first of its kind in Korea, following in the footsteps of the U.S. economic magazine "Fortune," which evaluates global companies each year.

Visteon and Halla Climate Control are joint venture partners in the ownership and operation of three plants in Korea. Visteon and Halla have been partners in the Asia Pacific region since 1986, and also have joint venture operations in Canada (Halla Climate Control Canada Inc.), Portugal (Halla Climate Control Portugal Ltd.), India and Thailand.

"Visteon congratulates Halla Climate Control on being recognized as one of "The 30 Most Respected Companies in Korea," said Bob Pallash, Visteon's vice president of Asia Pacific operations. "Visteon is proud to be partnered with Halla Climate Control, a company that is a market leader in Korea."

Halla produces a variety of leading climate control systems and components for the automotive industry, including air conditioning systems and heater assemblies, front-end modules, engine cooling modules, compressors, clutches, and other components.

Halla Climate Control has won numerous awards, including being named in 2003 by Forbes Global (the international edition of Forbes magazine) as one of the best, non-U.S. small companies in the world. In compiling the list, called the "Best Under a Billion," Forbes Global selected the 200 best companies from a worldwide pool of 19,000 companies with annual sales of less than $1 billion. Halla Climate Control was one of only two Korean companies to receive the honor.
