FT: Asahi Glass Co Ltd has increased its stake in Indonesian glassmaker

Japanese company Asahi Glass Co Ltd has increased its stake in Indonesian sheet glass producer PT Asahimas Flat Glass to become the majority shareholder in the joint venture.
Asahi Glass Co Ltd President Shinya Ishizu said in a report published by the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) Thursday, the Japanese principal bought more than 1.57 million shares bringing its stake to around 186.71 million shares in Asahimas.
Ishizu said Asahi Glass bought the shares from the JSX in three consecutive days from November 12 to 14.
Before the share buying Asahi Glass shared the majority stake with PT Rodamas Co. Ltd each holding 39.69 per cent. The rest are held by a cooperative and investing public.
