Date: 27 March 2015

Edgetech UK, a Quanex Company has chosen Burnley for the site of its first IGU Component Centre. Edgetech will distribute its rapidly expanding range of products to IGU manufacturers, fabricators and installers across the northern region.

All the IGU components needed to manufacture warm edge glass units are available from Edgetech’s new 5,200 sq. ft. centre.Top performing desiccant TruSieve™, TruPlas® SDL and Bostik’s IGU sealants are available alongside the full range of spacers from Edgetech.

Heading up the Burnley IGU Component Centre is Nigel Toyne. Well known in the region for his previous position supporting customers at a building plastic and insulated glass products depot, Nigel brings to his new role 24 years of technical expertise in IGUs. He is joined by a team of drivers, warehouse staff and administration support.

Edgetech is recognised as the leading warm edge spacer manufacturer in the UK and is now also established as one of the main suppliers of sealants. Last year it expanded its products to create the comprehensive ‘Just Add Glass’ IGU components range.

“The IGU Component Centre is an exciting venture that brings stock of Edgetech’s growing range of products for glass units into the heart of a fast growing region,” says Nigel. “Holding products on the ground means we can provide local delivery, as well as creating a base for customers to collect from. We’re well placed just off junction 9 of the M65 in Burnley.”

There are extra sales opportunities on offer for IGU manufacturers, window fabricators and installers as the centre is stocking TruShield™ glass protection system and TruFit™ expanding foam edge tape for thermally efficient window and door installation. Customers can also benefit from business and marketing support with new Edgetech Dealership Plus.
