Pleotint Announces Distribution Partnership with Soft-Lite Windows

Date: 26 March 2015

Pleotint, LLC, has announced a distribution partnership with Soft-Lite Windows, enabling Soft-Lite to offer Suntuitive glass with its full product line.

Headquartered in Streetsboro, Ohio, Soft-Lite manufacturers new and replacement windows and doors, which are available through a nationwide dealer network.Tyson Schwartz, vice president of sales and marketing at Soft-Lite, said his company has been exploring dynamic glass options in response to customer demand.“We are excited to be able to offer self-tinting Suntuitive glass to our customers,” Schwartz said. “There are several types of dynamic glass on the market, but Suntuitive glass is different, it just works. It doesn’t need to be wired into a home’s electrical system and it can be used in all types of windows and doors in any shape or size. In winter, it will allow the sun’s heat to passively warm a home, but in summer, it will tint to counteract unwanted solar heat gain. It also does a superb job at reducing glare all year. Suntuitive glass is truly dynamic.”

When paired with low-emissivity glass in an insulating glass unit, Suntuitive glass can produce visible light transmittance of as high as 60 percent in a clear state, solar heat gain coefficients of as low as 0.11 in a darkened state, and reduce heating-, cooling-, and lighting-related energy costs.
