CRL-U.S. Aluminum's New Entice Series Premium Entrance System is a Fusion of Form and Function

Date: 5 March 2015

First-of-its-kind entrance system exceeds demanding building code and energy conservation requirements while maintaining elegant all-glass aesthetics     From the inception of the commercial storefront system, manufacturers have sought to craft well-engineered entrances that are meant to entice with both aesthetics and high performance features.

CRL-U.S. Aluminum looked to these principles when designing a new entrance system concept that would be on a higher level of quality and innovation.

Aptly named the Entice Series, CRL-U.S. Aluminum's new Entrance System is the first premium storefront of its kind on the market that meets and exceeds the industry's ever-evolving building codes and energy conservation requirements while maintaining an air of elegance. U.S. Aluminum designed the modern Entice Series with minimal vertical lines, and the unique ability to support door handle hardware on 1" insulating glass panels via specialized thru-glass fittings. This produces a floating-on-air look that is uniquely suited for use with the company's elegant Blumcraft line of access control handles. The new Entice Series will premier at the AIA Expo 2015, May 14-16 in Atlanta.

The Entice System is available in four models, with door stile widths as narrow as 1-1/8" to 2-5/8", and depths as shallow as 2-1/2". These systems are clad with finely finished materials and do not feature break lines where common doors would have removable stops. Entice has an impressive pedigree, endowed with trusted CRL technologies, as well as two patented innovations that assure enhanced performance, durability, and reliability.

This innovative system is equipped with field-proven, thoroughly tested components and patent pending innovations that provide improved function, build quality, and impressive visuals. U.S. Aluminum focused on giving the new Entice Series features that will allow it to be classified as AAMA 101 Performance Class - LC-PG25-SHD, while CRL Quiet Fin Seal components meet ASHRAE 90.1 Air Infiltration and Thermal Performance standards by providing a dynamic air and water infiltration management system for exceptional resistance to weather. Storefront heights up to 12 feet at 25 PSF wind loads are possible when using the Entice support fin system with transom glass. Additionally, the top sidelite and fin support base can be recessed into the ceiling for a flush appearance. For added protection, patent pending vertical stiles with narrow sightlines and door rails have been designed with heavy-duty thermally broken cladding that help the system reach U-Factors as low as 0.33. In addition to the enhanced thermal attributes, the cladding feature also yields added versatility and serviceability in that numerous premium finishes are available that can be easily changed in the event of door damage or change of building tenant.

Newly incorporated patent pending CORNER-LOC Technology for precise corner alignment and resistance to door torsion, paired with advanced CRL Kwik-Adjust door jamb alignment technology provides Entice with features that benefit both installer and end-user. In addition, CRL's patent pending SEAL-LOC technology's mechanically clamped seals eliminate the need for glass stops and simplify the glass replacement process. This unique pairing of CRL-U.S. Aluminum innovations all work together to make the new Entice System the only of its kind in the industry.

"We are incredibly proud and excited to launch the new Entice Series as this system embodies and realizes our vision of fully integrating our core CRL and U.S. Aluminum brands," says Lloyd Talbert, President of C.R. Laurence. "The industry has been asking for a commercial storefront that provides the contemporary aesthetics of an all-glass system while meeting rigorous performance requirements. Our designers have responded, and the answer is Entice."

The Entice Series is also available in a hybrid configuration that features a fully integrated, prewired and serviceable LED lighting system that provides stunning accent lighting along the top and bottom of the door. The low voltage LED modules are concealed behind flush-mounted lenses. The door's lighting electrical current is transferred through an electrified pivot that eliminates typical exposed conduits.

The Entice Series Entrance System has been designed for use in both small and large-scale commercial storefront projects, and can also be used as reduced sound transmission interior office partitions. Additionally, Entice is available as a complete storefront system with corners, thresholds, jambs, mullions, and sidelite rails-or can be paired with standard U.S. Aluminum storefront and curtain wall systems.
