Employees at Visteon OK agreement

Workers at Visteon Corp.'s Rawsonville plant near Ypsilanti have approved a new labor contract with the company.
United Auto Workers Local 898 reached a tentative agreement with the company on May 21 - less than two hours before the union's strike deadline. But that agreement still needed to be ratified by union members.
Visteon spokeswoman Tammera L. Hallums told The Ann Arbor News for a Friday story that the company was pleased with the workers' decision to approve the agreement, but she declined to provide details of it.
Union officials outlined the terms of the agreement to their members in a series of meetings while members voted Wednesday. Union representatives said the agreement was approved, but did not divulge specifics of the deal.
Visteon, the world's second-largest automotive supplier, is a former unit of Ford that spun off from the automaker four years ago. It has been undergoing constant restructuring since then.
The plant near Ypsilanti makes parts such as windshield wiper motors and alternators for numerous Ford vehicles. Ford is Visteon's largest customer.
