The Association of leading Italian manufacturers of machinery, accessories and special products for glass processing organizes and coordinates the participation of its members in the most prominent glass industry trade shows.

Gimav’s commitment to Italian enterprise and to promoting Italian-made products hinges on new initiatives in 2015 and aims to lend increasingly effective support to exports, the real powerhouse of Italy’s glass industry.Strategic to this objective is participation in the leading international trade shows.

Industry professionals will find Italy’s group representatives – always among the top stops for international buyers – at the most important international glass industry events, beginning with GLASSPEX INDIA 2015 set to take place in Mumbai March 13th to 15th. India is currently experiencing a sort of economic renaissance, with forecasts for a positive upward trend after the slower pace of recent years. Despite the issues that still plague the country, the outlook is optimistic. India’s strengthening growth offers excellent business potential to Italy’s glass industry, as evidenced by major investments in modernization made by the Indian government.

Then comes CHINA GLASS 2015, in Beijing May 20th to 23rd. China remains the largest and most compelling driver of the global economy, even though its growth rate is slowing. Countermeasures have already been taken, which include investments in new infrastructure projects that, indirectly, will open the doors to many attractive possibilities for Italian-made products as well: indeed, Italian-made machines offer the kind of high-quality technology increasingly in demand in the Chinese marketplace.

The Gimav program continues with participation at MIR STEKLA in Moscow from June 8th to 11th. This is a market in crisis, with major struggles that quickly deteriorated from geopolitical to economic-financial disaster, due to the collapse of the ruble and the drop in oil prices. Italian enterprises, for whom Russia has long been a key market, will be on hand at the group stand to offer local manufacturers machines that guarantee the quality products that have become essential to success in both the domestic and international markets.

An eagerly-awaited appointment is the one with GLASSBUILD AMERICA in Atlanta from September 16th to 18th, thanks to the glowing prospects the North American market holds for Italy’s glass industry exports. The economy is in a steady state of recovery, making it possible for Italy’s exporting enterprises to plan for brilliant results next year. The healthy condition of the building and construction sector offers further confirmation and an incentive to focus with confidence on what is traditionally a very receptive market.

Autumn brings it home, from October 6th to 9th, for VITRUM 2015, the event of the year, fully capable of attracting the industry’s leading international players. In a context designed to showcase the best global production, member firms of the Italian Gimav Association will be front and center to present their latest innovations to highly-qualified consumers from around the world.
