Scheuten intends to close production plant Fijnaart

Date: 26 January 2015

Scheuten intends to close its insulating glass production plant in Fijnaart (Scheuten Glas Randstad) in the course of February.

This will align the production capacity of Scheuten to the lower market demand.

This decision is a result of a long-term declining market for these products due to the continued crisis in the Dutch building sector. In the future, the customers of Scheuten Glas Randstad will continue to be properly supplied from the two other Dutch production sites, being Hoorn and Venlo. Scheuten regrets that as a result of this envisaged decision about 35 employees in Fijnaart will lose their jobs.
