Innovative glass for a sustainable future

Date: 21 November 2014

Three innovative Pilkington brand products excited special interest at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in New Orleans in October.

Manning a stand twice the size of previous years, Marketing Communications Specialist Sharon Urban and Regional Sales and Marketing Managers Mike Johnson and Clay Lanier welcomed a stream of visitors eager to find out more about a wide range of products, in particular:  Low-E 4th Surface Technology, which allows double-glazed units to achieve 12 percent better thermal performance than clear glass triple-pane units; Pilkington Spacia™, the extra-thin double glazing which achieves the same thermal performance as conventional IGUs with a unit just 6mm thick, and Pilkington Activ™, the world's first self-cleaning glass.   Greenbuild is the world's largest conference and expo dedicated to green building and attracts architects and specifiers from across North America."All of the attendees had interest in sustainable design and construction," said Sharon.

"There was a particular focus on Low-E 4th Surface Technology, Pilkington Spacia™ and Pilkington Activ™ because of their contribution to green building."
