TKK is exhibiting at this year’s Vitrum fair (October 23 to 26 in Milan, Italy), where it will be highlighting its innovative two-component polysulfide sealant with low thermal conductivity for the glass industry.

With its new product, TIOELAST TM IZO CBS®, this Slovenian producer of sealants, adhesives, polyurethane foams, technical sprays, and admixtures for concrete and mortars is able to offer solutions that lower thermal conductivity and, most importantly, save energy./font>

Vitrum is a biennial international trade fair for machinery, equipment, and systems for processing flat and hollow glass, other glass, and finished products for industry. This year it will be held from 23 to 26 October in Milan. With its large range of specialized products (Tioelast TM IZO CBS®, Tioelast TM, Butmelt, Tekasil T, Tekasil T 2K, Tekasil WB 2K, and Tekaflex PU 2K), TKK is able to offer complete solutions for thermal insulation glass manufacturing and sealing expansion joints.

TIOELAST TM IZO CBS®

The IGU frame is the most critical point for heat loss. The aluminium frame, or spacer, is being replaced with a metal-polymer hybrid one in order to improve thermal conductivity. The thermal conductivity of the best hybrid spacer is 0.18 W/mK, whereas the best thermal conductivity of commercial polysulphide is 0.40 W/mK.

The contribution of the traditional two-component polysulfide sealant to the overall heat transfer coefficient of the window is now higher than that of the best spacer. Therefore, TKK has developed a new and better polysulfide with lower thermal conductivity: TIOELAST TM IZO CBS®.

The use of the new TIOELAST TM IZO CBS® product improves the insulation on the edges of the insulating glass units up to 14% and has a very low vapour and gas transmission rate. Rapid hardening of the product allows the insulation glass unit to be moved and installed quickly (after only six hours). These characteristics make it suitable for manual, automatic, pneumatic, and hydraulic use.

TIOELAST TM IZO CBS® has IFT Rosenheim and ZAG Ljubljana certificates.
