Emirates Glass wins Bahrain contract
|
The Formula One complex in Bahrain is going to be dressed in glass produced at the Al Quoz facility Emirates Glass Limited, the company announced here yesterday.
The Dubai-based quality glass producer is increasingly breaching highly competitive international markets, and won highly sought-after contract against intensive competition from international glass giants.
"We are thrilled to have got such a prestigious contract outside of our home territory," said Jerry Dowling, General Manager of Emirates Glass. "The winning of the contract to supply the Formula One Complex in Bahrain, of course, stands out not in terms of the volumes we would be supplying, but also in terms of the visibility of the project and the interest it has generated worldwide and in our region operations," General Manager Dowling pointed out. The contract to supply glass for the Formula One Complex was signed recently, under the terms of the agreement, Emirates Glass will supply a substantial 11,000 square metres of its top-of-the-line EmiCool NE low emissions glass.
EmiCool provides the optimal balance between requirements to keep the high temperatures of the Gulf out of the steel and glass buildings - while at the same time providing enough indoor light and aesthetic appearances. The highly-efficient EmiCool also provides good night view by reducing indoor reflection and helps save on electricity.
The contractor for the prestigious Formula One project, Aluminium Services and the architect Tilke GmbH, selected EmiCool by Emirates Glass out a wide international field of suppliers. The project is scheduled to finish by the end of this year.
Bahrain has ploughed $150 million into the Middle East's first Formula One Grand Prix circuit. Organisers say more than 20,000 tickets have already been sold - and expect to attract 70,000 for the first race on April 4
