Entegris Names Scott Sturm President Of Life Sciences Market

Entegris, Inc., a leader in materials integrity management, today announced that Scott Sturm was appointed to president of the company’s life sciences market segment. In this new position, Sturm assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of business strategy, sales, marketing and subsidiary operations for the life sciences market. He will report into Michael Wright, Entegris’ chief operating officer.

“Scott has an excellent 12-year track record in management with Entegris,” said Wright. “Our life sciences market is a key area of growth for the company and I am confident Scott’s leadership will enable Entegris to recognize all the potential this industry has to offer. Today our life sciences market makes up three percent of the company’s revenue, we expect to double it by the end of fiscal year 2004.”

Most recently, Sturm held the position of vice president of sales for the company. Over the last 12 years, he has held several other management positions with Entegris in the areas of sales, marketing and product development. While working in the semiconductor market, Sturm developed and managed a global staff leading to a market leadership position across several geographic regions and product segments. He also played an instrumental role in the company’s initial release of the Cynergy product line for the life science market. Sturm holds a bachelor’s degree in communication arts from the University of Wisconsin.

“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to refocus my attention on the growth of our life sciences market,” said Sturm. “The marriage of Entegris’ technology and fluid handling products with our newly acquired Electrol™ clean-in-place equipment allows us to provide a uniquely competitive solution to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology marketplace. I think we are well positioned in the life sciences industry and I am very enthusiastic about our future.”
