Main Point Karlin Building - Prague, Czech Republic

Workers in the new Main Point Karlin Building in Prague, Czech Republic, are lucky: their building has just won the 2012 worldwide MIPIM* Award in the category of best Office and Business development.

Supported by the International Building Project (IBP) Team of AGC Glass Europe, DaM architects chose Planibel Energy N 6 mm for the 7,000 m² glazing because of its high light transmission and enhanced solar protection.

The construction of the Main Point Karlin Building ran from December 2009 until August 2011. It counts ten floors (22,000 m²) and three underground levels with 347 parking spaces. The façade is exceptional with full height windows that are fitted with 3D pillars. The building combines several environmentally-friendly elements. Such as using the Vltava channel that flows under the building for the water cooling system.



The architectural design of the building combines soft curves with straight lines. On the roof, we can enjoy a year-round accessible terrace offering a stunning view on the historical center of Prague.
