Island style created by Tuffx Ambi-Max

Ambi-Max superlength units available only from Tuffx once again proved to be the ideal product for a prestigious orangery project in the Channel Islands. Orangery Solutions were commissioned for the large installation which required aesthetic blending for a very individual property.

The private home, based in Jersey, required special planning permission as the orangery was 8m x 8m and incorporated a 6.2 x 6.2 m lantern. Aesthetics were extremely important to match the style of the stone property.

The house which is situated in one of Jersey’s most esteemed areas is one of the largest properties on the island encompassing more than 15,000 sq ft.

The homeowners specified a thermally efficient, self cleaning glass roof which would add value to the home and provide a room that could be used all year.

TuffX won the contract with Orangery Solutions as they had provided the Ambi-Max 4m glass lengths for a number of other projects which had proved highly successful. The Jersey project has led to other referrals on the island with a further large orangery installation to be completed soon.

The Ambi-Max glazing option from the Ambience range which provides a 1.2 u-value combined with the Orangery Solutions patented system ensures that the high specification standards for year round usage can be achieved.

Paul Nellis, Managing Director at Orangery Solutions comments, “The orangery was built to the exact specification of the architect’s design and homeowners wishes. As an extremely high specification job which required only the best glazing products throughout it was essential to install units that could provide excellent solar control.

Additionally given the requirements we wanted to ensure that any issues relating to potential leaks were completely eliminated.

TuffX always provides products of the highest quality however now the larger units have been introduced into the range, this gives us a huge advantage as technically they create fewer technical problems after installation.

Paul Nellis concludes “With such an impressive installation we have to know that our supplier can meet the extremely high standards we provide for our customers. The TuffX team always provides great aftersales care and as the range is very diverse this gives us more scope with our own business.”

The homeowner is delighted with the finished project and this has led to his neighbour now having contracted the company to provide an even larger orangery for his own home.

Graham Price, Managing Director at TuffX comments, “Ambi-Max was developed as a product to eliminate problems regarding leaks and it is growing in popularity as a niche oversize product that eliminates the need for muntin bars.

Increasingly we have also seen this become very popular for both orangery and conservatory projects because of the aesthetic benefits it offers. Month on month sales increases would appear to be encouraging news for the conservatory roofing market in general.”
