|
Almost 2 billion pounds of recycled glass and blast furnace slag went into making new fiberglass and slag wool insulation in 2002, the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association reported.
The manufacture of fiberglass insulation accounts for the second-highest usage volume of post-consumer glass, the association said.
The total amount of recycled glass and blast furnace slag used since the industry started surveys more than a decade ago has risen to 22 billion pounds, the association said.
