SmartGlass International at Patient Safety 2011 Conference

SmartGlass International will be at the Patient Safety Conference in the Queen Elizabeth centre in London on Tuesday 8 February 2011.

Patient Safety 2011 is the UK’s premier forum for a national discussion of the challenges in delivering safe and effective care for the 16 million people admitted to NHS hospitals each year. Over 350 delegates from across the health sector will attend examining topics such as infection control, managing clinical negligence, drug safety and detecting malnutrition. Expert speakers will be present on the day including Sir David Nicholson, Chief Executive of the NHS.

The government’s recent White Paper on health aims to put patient experience and quality of care at the heart of reforms to the NHS, challenging health services to be more open with patients and accountable for their outcomes. Achieving these goals will require widespread clinical and cultural change across the health sector.

SmartGlass Medical is a division of SmartGlass International and is the dedicated manufacturer of Electronically Switchable Glass for the medical sector. Also known as privacy glass, switchable glass, intelligent glass and electric glass these technologically advanced medical glass products are particularly focused on bringing privacy and dignity to medical wards, operation theatres, X-Ray suites etc.

Our main products are LC SmartGlassTM offering Privacy on demand and SPD SmartGlassTM offering Solar-Control. With the intention of concentrating our products and markets we only produce electronically switchable glass products and through continued research and development initiatives we have developed specific medical applicable products with the assistance of the NHS in the UK and various health professionals throughout Ireland, Germany and the Middle East.

The use of intelligent smart glass provides added value and increased flexibility in new and upgrade hospital designs, reduces HCAIs, improves working environments and building ergonomics, saves energy, and increases the well being of occupants. We are dedicated to bringing environmentally friendly building products and unique design capabilities to our customers.
