Umweltcluster Bayern - partner of the South-East European Conference & Exhibition on Waste Management & Recycling (13-15 April 2011)

The Umweltcluster Bayern is the network of the Bavarian industry and scientific institutions in the field of environmental technology. Its main objective is to bring together companies, research establishments and universities in order to permit intensive cooperation and hence activate innovation and productivity potential within the industry. Besides, the Umweltcluster Bayern intends to strongly encourage the companies’ internationalization activities. The cooperation with other networks or industry clusters from growing markets therefore represents a main topic, too. As an innovation service provider and information hub the Umweltcluster Bayern initiates regular events, workshops and cooperation projects that serve as platform for the exchange of know - how and experience and provide access to important contacts and latest market information. Through simulation of cluster effects it increases the competitiveness of Bavarian companies and promotes Bavaria as a strong business and science location.

Another partner that also supports this ecological event is the Institute for Sustainable Waste Management and Technology, Austria. Industrial Environmental Protection, Waste Disposal Technologies and Recycling are among the main sectors of the organization. In cooperation with enterprises, research institutions and authorities, IAE manages hands-on research and development projects in the fields of contaminated sites and disposal technology, waste disposal engineering and recycling, environmental management and eco-balancing, as well as environmental studies and process analytics. Prof. Dr. Karl Lorber is a member of the Program Committee of the Conference.

The event will be open on 13th of April 2011 by Dr. Caroline Jackson, UK expert and consultant on EU environment policy, specializing in waste management. She will deliver the keynote address at the upcoming Waste Management session. Dr. Jackson will discuss the reflections on European waste management.

She will be joined by leading experts from Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority -UK, Ifo Institute for Economic Research – Germany, Canadian Energy-from-Waste Coalition, NL Evironment, Waste Management – Netherlands, Royal Haskoning - Netherlands, etc.

During the three days of the Waste & Recycling Conference there will be a session for Waste Management; Waste-to-Energy; Landfill Management and Recycling.

The South East European Conference & Exhibition on Waste Management & Recycling will help companies and local governments implicated in the scheme by addressing key topics including Solutions to Recycling and Waste Management for Municipalities, Waste Management Best Practices in Canada, Dutch Approach to Waste Management, Waste to Energy as Part of an International Resource Management, etc. This is the only event that will bring together governmental and municipality representatives, companies, energy providers and carbon management experts from South East Europe to discuss and debate how to reach the Zero Waste society.
