After a year under construction, the new Bergen City Parkinghouse in Norway is now complete and is proudly displaying Pilkington glass.

With three floors for parking and three new glass pillars surrounding the elevator shafts, the Parkinghouse is the country's largest - excluding those in Norway's main airports.Processing and Merchanting's Bergen operation supplied the glass to Architect Nostvold AS which ensured that the part of the building facing the main road had a distinctive facade, displaying the three striking elevator shafts.A Pilkington Planar™ system using Pilkington Arctic Blue™ was chosen, and on the outside of the glass, a non-corrosive hoop system was mounted for decoration.Explained sales and marketing manager Kari Sorknes:"It was designed to resemble, in abstract, the rigging of the sailing ship Statsråd Lemkhul, contrasting against a blue sky or a blue sea.At night, the glass is lit up from the inside to make the façade shine."
