Hindustan Glass to set up units

HYDERABAD: Lured by the incentives offered by the State Government, another major company has evinced interest in setting up a plant in the State. Hindustan National Glass and Industries Limited today proposed to set up its state-of-the-art glass manufacturing complex at Naidupet in Nellore district.
Company joint managing director Mukul Somany today called on Chief Minister K Rosaiah and sought cooperation from the government to develop the State into a glass manufacturers’ hub.
In his representation to the State Government, Somany said that Hindustan National Glass and Industries would set up a mega manufacturing complex to produce Container Glass and Float Glass with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore. He also proposed to create a `Glass Complex’ as another mega project of first container glass plant with an investment of Rs 480 crore where construction will commence by April this year. Construction of the project will be completed by mid-2012.
The construction of float glass plant with a production capacity of 600 tons per day will commence in early 2012 and will be completed by 2014.
The construction of container glass plant will start by 2014 and production will commence in mid-2016.
In the first phase, the container glass plant will produce 450 tons per day of container glass and provide direct and indirect employment to 1,500 people.
