DuPont Sponsors "Celebration of Beijing" Event

 DuPont recently was one of the sponsors of Celebration of Beijing, an event held in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the Chinese citys selection as host of the 2008 Olympic Games.
DuPont Group Vice President Ed Donnelly represented DuPont at the event. He attended a private reception at the Chinese Embassy, where he presented a DuPont 200th Anniversary Silver Coin Collection to the Chinese ambassador to the United States. He also was a guest at a public concert at the Warner Theater, where he delivered a congratulatory toast.
Ed said: As one of the first western companies to open a representative office in Beijing in the early 1980s, DuPont is pleased and proud to congratulate China on the selection of Beijing to host the Olympic Games. This year, DuPont celebrates 200 years of delivering The miracles of science® to the world. We wish Beijing every success in delivering a Miracle to the World in 2008.
The concert, including Ed's toast, was broadcast on Chinese National Television. Representatives of each of the sponsoring companies received a special commemorative plaque made of DuPont Corian® solid surface material. The plaques featured the Olympic rings and a pair of pandas.
