Razor's Edge Technologies, Inc. Introduces Two New SPD-Smart Architectural Window Product Lines

Razor's Edge Technologies, Inc, a technology-based fenestration company, today announced the nationwide and international launch of two new product lines that incorporate SPD-Smart(TM) light-control technology.

The new lines, New-View(TM) and Smart-Shade(TM), include windows, skylights, interior partitions, and sunshades that can be adjusted to control the amount of sunlight that passes through.

Specifically, the New-View(TM) line is comprised of architectural window products, including residential and commercial windows, skylights, and interior partitions, as well as the re-glazing of existing window frames with SPD-Smart(TM) glass in both single pane and insulated glass units (IGU's).

The Smart-Shade(TM) line includes retrofit window products that allow consumers to enjoy the benefits of SPD-Smart(TM) technology without having to replace existing windows. "Smart-Shades" are designed to fit in existing windows and can be easily installed by the customer.

In addition, alliances with industry leaders in commercial, residential and industrial window frame manufacturing allow Razor's Edge to offer finished products merging SPD-Smart(TM)light-control technology with proven frame systems in a variety of styles, sizes, and materials. These strategic alliances include Precision Millworks, Inc., Rebco, Inc., and Thermo-Vu Sunlite Industries, Inc.

"With SPD-Smart(TM) technology, users can instantly "tint" their windows, skylights, sunrooms, and other products to select the amount of sunlight they want to let in - from clear to dark, or any shade in between," said Seth Turner, VP of Operations and IT for Razor's Edge. "In addition, SPD-Smart(TM) windows save energy and provide better comfort and control than traditional windows and, with a power draw of less than 0.06 watts per square foot, a large 16 square foot SPD-Smart(TM) window uses only about ten cents of electricity per month to operate continuously."

Light-control is made possible by a thin flexible film that uses SPD-Smart(TM) light-control technology invented by Research Frontiers Inc. (NASDAQ:REFR - News) The window products can be controlled manually via a dimmer switch or remote control, or automatically using a photocell, thermostat, or other sensor.

The Company has also developed specialized electronic control systems for use with both the New-View(TM) and Smart-Shade(TM) product lines.

New-View(TM) and Smart-shade(TM) products are available with all required electrical certifications for the US, Canada, and UK, including UL, CSA, CE approvals and other standards.
