Biesse and Intermac Canada: Celebrate their Grand Opening

Biesse Canada and Intermac Canada recently celebrated the Grand Opening of their new Canadian Headquarters with a special customer event.

The new building in Mirabel, QC, located just northwest of Montreal via Highway 15, exit 31, provided the setting for a three-day open house which featured the official ribbon cutting ceremony, appearances from notable local residents, live machine and software demonstrations, and other various festivities and refreshments. Experts were also on hand to answer customer questions on Biesse and Intermac Technology.

The new building, financed directly by Biesse Canada, represents an investment of 2.3M Canadian Dollars, and is part of a larger strategy by Biesse to maximize efficiencies at building locations and expand the overall coverage of Canada to better serve customers.

Construction began in October 2008, and the 25,000-square foot structure contains nearly 6,000 square feet of office space and features a 6,000 square foot state-of-the-art showroom for year-round live machinery demonstrations. The building also houses a 13,000-square foot, 8-ton craned warehouse.

The location in Mirabel was chosen for its easy access to the Mirabel International Airport, a main freight and logistical hub for shipping companies such as DHL and UPS, which allows Biesse to guarantee customers in North America 93% same day parts shipment. Additionally, modernized and lean improvements such as ease of access when loading/unloading equipment, wide windows that reduce energy costs, strong and fast cranes, and ergonomic office design, have been strategically incorporated, and will allow Biesse to reduce operative costs and become even more competitive throughout North America in both cost and service.

Biesse continues to maintain a 6,200-square foot facility in Toronto, which includes a 5,050-square foot showroom, and also utilizes the BCIT Showroom in Vancouver, BC. In an effort to enhance service for its Canadian customers, the company has been building up its overall presence, expanding its dealer network, and bringing aboard additional sales and technical personnel.
