First Chinese ift seminar shows basics for professional installation of windows and doors.

Modern window constructions offer ideal thermal and sound insulation as well as a high degree of security and user-friendliness. The professional installation of windows and doors is an important part of this.

From 25 to 29 June 2018, the ift seminar "Installation of windows and external pedestrian doors" took place in China.

94 window manufacturers and fitters from more than 15 Chinese provinces took part in the seminar in the city of Nantong (near Shanghai). Based on the Chinese version of the "Guideline for installation of windows and external pedestrian doors", the participants were taught theoretical and practical knowledge.

ift auditor Dittmar Siebert (Siebert Engineering) provided theoretical knowledge and held practical exercises with the participants. In the theoretical part of the schooling he explained the basics of building physics, fastening and sealing and explained the most important points from the installation guideline.

For the practice, the participants were divided into groups and trained in assembly on five afternoons. This gave everyone the opportunity to put the techniques they had learned into practice and to apply them immediately.

During the practical exercises, the participants were able to test their acquired knowledge right away

The closing ceremony took place on 29 June after the seminar. All participants learned important knowledge about advanced installation techniques, which they can now apply in their daily work. The high number of participants and the great interest show that improving installation quality is also a very relevant topic in China.

High quality and durability can only be achieved if the installation is carried out correctly. Otherwise, damage and complaints will occur, resulting in financial losses and loss of image – not only for the installation company, but also for the window manufacturer.
