Hoglund Art Glass of Nelson is continuing its international expansion, opening a new franchise gallery in Dubai. Managing director Marie Simberg-Hoglund left yesterday to attend the opening of the gallery, in Dubai's main shopping centre.
The company has galleries in Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland, and plans to open franchise galleries in Singapore and Shanghai in April. The number of glassblowers grew from six to nine last year, and four youths were being trained.
Mrs Simberg-Hoglund said it also planned to expand to Britain and America.
