With the industry looking at global developments, as well as possibilities for economic growth and new business opportunities, Hegla received encouraging feedback at the Italian expo held at the Fiera Milano this year.

For Hegla as a group it was a positive venture.

As a leading supplier of advanced cutting systems, handling equipment and pvc racking solutions for the glass market, the Vitrum arena proved a constructive showground where there was great interest shown by those looking to optimize production methods.

Many of the visitors to the stand were evaluating the possibility of progression into triple glazed unit production as well as general identification of glass. The Hegla team has been assessing this market sector along with potential industry legislation and how it will affect production procedures.

Consequently the company’s latest product development into laser marking ensures that all current and future industry standards can be easily incorporated into manufacturing procedures. Faster machinery development using products such as the Hegla Galactic range of Linear Drive Cutting Tables will give manufacturers real time benefits, were technical advantages that were well received at the exhibition.

Additionally the Re-Master System for sub plate re-use which can be retro fitted or installed as new, has always generated much interest due to the increased output and raw material savings it offers, which have become even more important with increased energy costs and the obvious knock on effect of higher glass prices Steve Goble, Managing Director at Hegla UK comments, “Most visitors already had a very clear perception about what they considered important in order to improve their manufacturing procedures. I am cautiously optimistic about future market trends given the keen interest shown in the Linear Drive and Laser Technology as well as the enquiries made regarding the different variations of Re-master.”
