Auburn Hills, Mich. – January 17, 2012 – US Glass Magazine recently recognized Guardian’s Building Energy Calculator as its Product Resource of 2011.

Product of the Year recipients were selected by readers of US Glass.

This free online tool is for architects and builders specifying commercial glass. It provides comparisons of multiple glazing options from a variety of manufacturers, analyzing prototypical buildings based on building fuel type, utility rates and specific weather data for 17 cities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The calculator is one of several digital tools Guardian recently introduced to ease the product specifying process for architects, builders and interior designers, including the SunGuard app, InGlass website and ecoScorecard.

“The feedback we’re getting from our partners and customers is that the energy calculator is easy-to-use and is a great resource for retrofits,” said Chris Dolan, Guardian director of commercial glass marketing. “By delivering estimates of energy dollar costs rather than only comparing product technical data, it goes right to the bottom line.”

This is the second time the energy calculator has been honored, earning a similar nod from Architectural Products Magazine.
