Guardian Fiberglass, Inc., a subsidiary of Guardian Building Products, Inc., has introduced  a new fiberglass insulation product called Fatt Batt™.

The new product is designed to meet stricter energy codes and higher R-value  recommendations by the Department of Energy. In fact, with a rating of R-49, Fatt Batt provides the highest R-value of any batt  insulation on the market today.

Fatt Batt insulation is 15 inches thick and installs in an easy, one-step application. Available faced and unfaced, Fatt Batt allows builders,  contractors and homeowners to reach R-49 without having to lay two separate batts on top of each other or add loose-fill insulation on  top of batts.

“Fatt Batt fills a valuable demand as more builders and homeowners seek to protect their pocketbooks from rising energy costs,” said  Teri Watson, vice president of marketing for Guardian Building Products. “Guardian is the first to ring this robust product to market. In  addition to eliminating the need for installing multiple thicknesses of insulation, Fatt Batt is easy to install.”  “Homeowners want their attics and ceilings maximized when it comes to nsulation,” said Watson. “Every insulation zone recommends  R-49 in the ceiling. With Fatt Batt, homeowners can get to R-49 with just one batt, or they an add it to their existing insulation.”

Fatt Batt is Greenguard® certified for Children & Schools. Greenguard certified roducts significantly reduce the existence of hazardous  emissions and promote healthy home and school environments.  Guardian Fiberglass offers a full line of fiberglass batts and rolls, including the Staple Optional® batts; ltraFitDS® and AsureR® sprayon  fiberglass wall insulation; Perfect Fill™, AtticGuard® loose-fill insulation and the ATS® system. The products are anufactured at five  plants strategically located throughout North America, with sixth plant, located in Winnsboro, S.C., set to begin operations in early 2007.
