Auburn Hills, MI (Sept. 29, 2009) – Guardian Industries today announced two glass products that feature the translucent quality of its popular SatinDeco product line.

Designed for commercial and residential windows and curtainwalls, the new glass options will provide architects with SatinDeco’s aesthetic beauty as well as the energy savings they expect from Guardian architectural glass.

Guardian SunGuard SatinDeco is designed for commercial façade applications and Guardian ClimaGuard SatinDeco for residential applications. These products join Guardian ShowerGuard SatinDeco which will be on display at GlassBuild America, Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in Atlanta (Coastal Industries Booth 401).

Guardian SunGuard SatinDeco combines SunGuard’s energy-saving qualities with the diffused privacy glass of SatinDeco in insulated glass units for curtainwalls and windows. SunGuard SatinDeco will offer architects an even broader range of design choices when a translucent, classic look is desired to help meet the increasing demand for decorative glass for use in hotels, healthcare facilities, office and retail buildings and many other types of projects.

Architects around the world rely on Guardian’s patented SunGuard coatings for energy savings and aesthetic beauty. They choose SunGuard advanced architectural glass for virtually any type of commercial project and to help gain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits. Guardian SunGuard glass is offered in a comprehensive range of colors and performance levels, and its coatings can be combined with laminated glass to provide sound protection and safety.

For residential applications, Guardian SatinDeco can be combined with any of the Guardian ClimaGuard low-E glass products that ensure maximum energy savings for any regional climate. ClimaGuard residential glass includes five low-E products designed to meet specific solar- and energy-control needs of different locales, plus ClimaGuard SPF for UV protection and ClimaGuard LamiGlass for sound protection and safety.

These SatinDeco products join ShowerGuard SatinDeco, which will be on display at GlassBuild America, starting September 30. Guardian will be displaying ShowerGuard SatinDeco in partnership with Coastal Industries (Booth 401). Guardian will display its patented ShowerGuard glass in clear, UltraWhite and SatinDeco. Guardian’s ShowerGuard is the first and only shower glass with protection that never needs to be reapplied. The surface of the glass is sealed through a patented ion-beam process during manufacturing, so it resists the corrosion and discoloration caused by constant exposure to heat, humidity, hard water, soaps and harsh cleaners. As a result, it requires less cleaning materials and maintains its original like-new appearance for years.

Guardian SatinDeco acid etched glass is also available without the ClimaGuard and SunGuard coatings on both clear and low iron float from 3.2mm – 19mm in both single and double-etch, as well as on mirrored substrates. The many choices mean Guardian SatinDeco can be used for a range of interior and exterior applications.
