SORG and EME are proud to have been chosen as suppliers to the Consol Nigel Greenfield factory project.

The initial regenerative SORG® furnace is 125 m² and is capable of melting over 400 tons per day of ultra-lightweight flint containers. Future plans call for as many as six furnaces to be operating at this location. For that reason EME has designed the batch plant to be XXL. (extra large)

The batch plant building is designed to process up to 2400 tons of batch per 16 hours and can handle any color. The initial installation has equipment capable of mixing and conveying 1200 tons of batch per day.

When Consol finishes their future expansion, this could easily be the largest  batch plant for container glass in the world.

Also involved was SORG Feuerungsbau who delivered and installed the steel, assembled the refractory materials as well as handling heat-up, hot sealing and filling.

To round out the picture another SORG Group company, Fuse Tech International employed cold face welding of the expansion joints.

For the SORG Group this was really a team effort. We want to congratulate Consol for being on time and on budget on this monumental project. We wish the Nigel factory continued success.
