GlassTech Asia 2005 has received the very strong support from Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).GlassTech Asia, the 5th International Glass Products, Glass Manufacturing, Processing & Materials Exhibition and Conference, will give Thailands and the regions glass makers convenient access to relevant glass making technology and equipment from all over the world.Mr Edward Liu, Managing Director of Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd (CEMS) explained, The demand for flat glass around the world is set to increase by 3.9 percent annually to more than 44.1 billion square feet in 2006, while the flat glass production is forecast to increase by some 4.4 percent a year to 41.7 million metric tones in 2006.The situation is excellent for exhibitors and trade visitors of GlassTech Asia to seize this opportune moment to do business.GlassTech is the largest glass exhibition in ASEAN and South Asia and the second largest in the Asia-Pacific region, he said.
So far more than 349 companies and organizations from 30 different countries have confirmed to showcase their latest technologies. Singapore pavilion will be the largest country pavilion occupying almost 1,000 sqm exhibiting area from 45 main and represented exhibitors. We believe that the show will attract some 8,000-10,000 trade and public visitors particularly Glass Manufacturers of the Federation of Thai Industries. This will further help us strengthen our HollowGlass Asia sector, said Mr Liu.
He added trade visitors could arrange pre-scheduled appointments for one-on-one meetings with exhibitors before the event by registering and arranging the meeting through the official website at www.glasstechasia.com.
Mr Vithaya Sintharapantorn, Director-Exhibition Sector of Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) said, We are pleased to welcome the event, which is being organized for the first time in Thailand. This means the glass manufacturers as well as people in related industry do not have to fly to Singapore and view the latest technologies there. We are also very happy to know that the number of exhibitors and their corresponding space intake for this year is 100 percent bigger than the previous one held in Singapore.
The role of TCEB is to bring into Thailand conferences and exhibitions to help further promote Thailands trade, investment and economy as a whole. Supporting such event to be staged in Thailand is also in line with the Thai governments effort to actively promote the country as an international hub for conventions and exhibitions.

GlassTech Asia 2005 moves from Singapore to Thailand with twice the size
Thai glass manufacturers will no longer need to fly to Singapore to attend GlassTech Asia 2005 as it has been moved to Bangkok by its organizer Conference & Exhibitions Management Services (CEMS), Singapore Glass Association and Thai Glass Dealers Association.
