The growing use of coated glass, especially newly introduced Low-E's with emissivities as low as 0.02-0.04 combined with the trend of continuous seek of superior optical quality has set the glass processing companies in a challenging situation.

Glassrobots response to this challenge with RoboTemp™ FTM full convection tempering system has been welcomed with enthusiasm in the market. Unbeatable flatness and optical quality has been reached without compromising the productivity. With soft coated Low-E glass, the existing commercial RoboTemp™ plants went down to 29 sec/mm of thickness.

RoboTemp™ FTM furnace features patented true convection heating system, which is the only electrically heated full convection system with profiling in the market today. Patented FuzzyTemp™ automatic on-line heat profiling system offers unrivalled performance regards to output and quality, when compared with any other systems, whether radiant or assisted convection.

100% more capacity

The new system works mainly on convection, thus giving the best heating performance in terms of speed, uniformity and profiling response. The processing times with very low emissivity glasses are only about 15% more compared to float glass. The heating control for Low-E is very much alike to float, which makes the use of the equipment pretty simple and easy to learn.

Low maintenance costs

RoboTemp™ has been designed with a special view to good ergonomics, reduced energy consumption, safety of operation and ease of maintenance. The used components are standard ones, easily available, many of which are maintenance free (e.g. pre-lubricated drives, maintenance free timing belt drive). The ceramic rollers can be easily removed for maintenance. Also the heating elements are designed for long life, and this further enhanced by the circulating convection air. The heating elements can be easily removed without cooling the furnace.
