Finnish Glassrobots and Tamglass that operate in the Tampere area, in Finland, are competing in glass production lines. In November 2005, Tamglass announced its record-fast flat tempering furnace (Sonic), and now Glassrobots has broken this record with its RoboTemp multiconvection tempering system.

Glassrobots is expected to achieve a strong market position with its new machine. According to the company, more important than speed, is the new machine's ability to make a high quality product. Glassrobots' net sales reached a record level in 2005, and also order books were at a record level in the beginning of 2006. The company's outlook is very promising, but 10% growth in net sales will be sufficient, says deputy MD Petri Lammi.

Glassrobots is designing the world's largest tempering machine that is able to temper a glass sheet 3.2 metres wide and 8 metres long. Glassrobots' production is sold by Tambest Group.
