Las Vegas (September 11, 2011): GlassBuild America, North America’s largest window, door, and architectural glass trade show, has partnered with Opportunity Village as the official charity of the show.

Exhibitors at GlassBuild America can donate anything they are not shipping back to their office and no longer need. Opportunity Village works with show management to pass out special donation stickers and the items are picked up when the show is over.

“We are pleased to have found a way to give back to the community. Opportunity Village does great work in Las Vegas and we are proud to partner with them this year,” commented Susan Jacob, Director of Industry Events, National Glass Association.

Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization serving people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1954, Opportunity Village has grown to become Nevada’s largest private, not-for-profit community habilitation program, serving more than 3,000 people annually through vocational training, community job placement, art & life skill enrichment, advocacy, and social recreation programs. Opportunity Village is almost entirely self-funded and operates three employment training center campuses and a Thrift Store in Southern Nevada. It also operates a vehicle donation program and trains and places hundreds of disabled adults in jobs throughout the community.

“We are so excited to be part of the show this year. Items donated at the trade show will become part of the inventory at our thrift stores, giving disabled adults employment opportunities and helping to fund education,” commented Dominique Braxton, Thrift Store Merchandise Coordinator with Opportunity Village.
