But he has also been pushing the artistic possibilities of glass to the limit.
As a result, his work will be on show later this month at a new London exhibition, 21st Century British Glass, which will be highlighting the work of Britain's leading glass artists.
In the past, Fonde has incorporated both poetry and short stories into some of his works.
He organised an exhibition that paired eleven glass artists with eleven members of the British Haiku Society, a group which specialises in a three-line form of Japanese poetry.
And at his hot glass studio he and his fellow workers have also created wonderful glass trophies for events like the Scouseology and North West Tourism awards.
But it is combining glass creation with storytelling that has marked him out as something special.
He explains: "I started writing stories one Christmas after a friend of mine came to the studio shopping for presents.
"She spent some time playing with all the different jugs we made looking for one that poured with the most ease.
Glass work of art
