Glasses can be provided with designs and patterns in different ways. Widely-used are etching or sandblasting methods, with which the glass is frosted and structured.

An interesting alternative is processing using laser technology, which makes it possible to design flat glass individually, precisely and extremely flexibly.

Ornamental creepers, precise lettering or frighteningly detailed predators: These motifs which appear as if they were etched or printed on glass have been applied with laser technology.

A process which CLIMAplusSECURIT partner Hoog & Sohn have been successfully using for several years, because “it is always exciting to see how faithfully the selected designs are reproduced on the glass”, says John Loose, the company’s CEO. With laser glass, the glass surfaces is frosted using a laser beam.

The beam creates very small beads on the glass surface, comparable with the individual pixels of a printed image. Through the variable arrangement of these beads, the finest structures and areas with varied densities can be created. In addition, using the patented Laser Grip method accessible glass can be provided with anti-slip properties.
