On March 22nd, Glass for Europe was virtually in Moscow for the 22nd edition of MIR STEKLA, the International Exhibition for Glass Products, Manufacturing, Processing and Finishing Technology.

MIR STEKLA is an international exhibition of technologies and equipment for glass production and processing.

Bertrand Cazes, Secretary General of Glass for Europe, participated in the opening session on Investments and Innovations in the Glass Industry. He presented the flat glass sector’s contributions to Europe’s decarbonisation efforts and the business opportunities that building renovation and clean mobility represent for the industry. “I am glad to exchange views and best practices with our Russian colleagues” said B. Cazes. “International cooperation is essential to tackle issues as difficult as the reduction of CO2 emissions from flat glass manufacturing. Global challenges deserve global solutions hence the dialogue we try to establish worldwide”, he concluded.

During the session dedicated to Modern Glass Materials as a Tool to Adapt to Climate Change and Improve Energy Efficiency of the Russian Economy, Stephane Noel,  Environmental Advisor at Glass for Europe,  presented the disruptive technological routes identified by Glass for Europe for a massive decarbonisation of the float glass manufacturing process.
