The Rockingham County Board of Commissioners approved an incentives package worth more than $113,000 to assist the company, which is a fabricator of commercial, residential and architectural glass.
Glass Dynamics plans to invest $4.9 million in the Stoneville project, according to a release from the Rockingham County Partnership for Economic and Tourism Development. The new jobs will include supervisors, machine operators and truck drivers.
"Five years ago the county assisted us in making improvements so that we could transition from products for the furniture industry to products for architectural applications," said Conrad Lankford, vice president and owner of Glass Dynamics. "This expansion will enable us to streamline our production and keep up with the rising demand for laminated glass for buildings and strengthened glass for security purposes."
