mBank, formerly known as BRE Bank SA, was established in 1986 in Poland.

From humble beginnings, granting foreign currency loans to Polish companies, mBank went on to become a fully corporate bank capable of competing with the largest players in the market.  Today, mBank is synonymous with modernity, dynamism, and state-of-the-art technology. Even the bank’s glass façade bears testimony to this fact.

Poland is characterized by its temperate climate. The average temperature in the summer (June, July, and August) is 19 degrees centigrade; whereas during winter, the temperature drops several degrees below zero. In such cold weather, it is crucial to ensure building occupants are kept warm and snug. Realizing this need for comfort, the bank chose to go with an elegant, solar-controlled glass façade for its Bydgoszcz branch. A choice that brings in big savings on energy and air-conditioning. SGG Cool Lite SKN 172 and SGG Seralit Evolution from Saint-Gobain Glass were the preferred choices.

Both products, unique in characteristics and benefits, add a dash of poise to the structure. What’s worth noting is that while SGG Seralit Evolution provides varying degrees of privacy, it also creates a sense of openness and space. A smart combination of aesthetic pleasure and functionality.

In comparison, for its Warsaw branch, the bank decided to go with a double glazed glass that affords enhanced thermal insulation. The SGG ANTELIO Silver was clearly the glass of choice. Available in different variants – curved, enameled, screen-printed, double glazed, and laminated – it allows architects to give reign to their creativity. And that is what is reflected in this simple yet elegant architectural beauty.

Glass facades can truly transform a structure. With modern architecture increasingly relying on glass, sustainable glass solutions are the way to go. It not only breathes life into spaces but is also a step towards preserving the environment.
