During his stay in Negara Brunei Darussalam for the opening of his Visionary Landscapes exhibit organised by the US Embassy, glass artist, Josh Simpson, recently visited the Mahkota Glass Factory. This was the first of several cultural exchange activities scheduled for Mr.

Simpson, which will also include a public lecture at UBD, a school visit, an Artist-to-Artist exchange and more.

The visit to Mahkota Glass Factory provided a conducive setting for Mr. Simpson and local glass artists to exchange ideas.

Both parties also had an opportunity to show their artistic creations. Mr. Simpson commented that he was impressed by the fact that the Mahkota artists had reached a high standard in their glasswork within a relatively short period of time.

Likewise, the Mahkota artists found Mr. Simpson's presentation of his work to be a wonderful motivation for them to continue developing their craft and not to be afraid to experiment with new methods.
